Portland, Ore., Aug 21, 2012 /(CNA/EWTN News).- A federal judge dismissed a sex abuse lawsuit against the Holy See on grounds that the Vatican was not an employer of the accused ex-priest and cannot be held financially liable for the abuse.
Jeffrey Lena, counsel for the Holy See, told CNA on Aug. 21 that the ruling is “particularly important.”
It follows a years-long legal examination of whether the Vatican has sovereign immunity protecting it from such lawsuits.
On Monday U.S. District Judge Michael Mosman in Portland, Ore. ruled that the laicized Servite priest Andrew Ronan, who allegedly molested the plaintiff as a teenager in 1965 and 1966, did not have an employee-employer relationship with the Vatican.

Perhaps the folks at CPCSM would be interested in renting a hall in the future, or perhaps the Ku Klux Klan?
Edit: Isn't it great when two fraternal organizations whose mutual association would be frowned upon by the Catholic Church, look past all that to break bread in an official capacity?

( Especially when both are in union with the same Catholic Faith and Reason. )
To be a man is Catholic Teaching.
To be a woman is Catholic Teaching.
Other than these are publicly opposing Church Teaching.

E’ giunta a noi grazie al National Catholic Register una storia assai gradita: la conversione di Ilyas Khan. Quest’uomo, nato da genitori musulmani, cresciuto in Gran Bretagna, tuttora proprietario della squadra di calcio Accrington Stanley ha deciso di abbracciare il cattolicesimo. Quanti sono i mussulmani che vorrebbero rinunciare alla loro fede per accogliere Gesù Cristo come Dio, ma che per paura dei loro correligionari scelgono di non aderirvi! Ebbene quest’uomo ha invece deciso di uscire allo scoperto e racconta la sua storia al sito citato poc’anzi.

According to the newspaper El Tiempo, the case involves Marco Fidel Rojas, the former mayor of the town of Huila, whose testimony has now been sent to the Vatican office heading the sainthood cause for the late pontiff.
Recounting his story to the Colombian paper, Fidel remembers experiencing the first symptoms of the disease in December of 2005. After a series of examinations, doctors determined he had suffered a stroke, which led to the development of Parkinson's.
