Division: SSPX’s French District Argues Against Agreement

Father Jean-Michael Gleize of the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) has published in the monthly newsletter "Courrier de Rome" and on the website of the French SSPX “La Porte Latine” an article against an agreement of the SSPX with the Vatican. Gleize teaches theology in the seminary of the Society in Ecône, Switzerland. He was one of the four SSPX theologians, who participated in the dogmatic discussions with the Vatican between 2009 and 2011.

According to Gleize it is evident that the Vatican envisages “at best a regime of tolerance with regard to the Society”. He asks the question whether it is prudent to place the Society under the authority of a Catholic hierarchy, that consists in its dominant element of “modernists”.

Gleize concludes, that the Society should wait until the Vatican corrects “the perfidious errors” of the Second Vatican Council before signing an agreement.

Lionel L. Andrades You claim EENS to be falsly interpreted. I agree. However which other Dogmas were not undermined after CII and are truly interpreted?

He is part of the problem.
He represented the SSPX in doctrinal talks with the Vatican which was approved by Cardinal Ratzinger. He was interpreting Vatican Council II and other documents with Cushingism and so was the Vatican side. He did not seem to have a clue to it.
