The first was about the six Brazilian Communists invited to the Amazon Synod by REPAM - the Synod's organiser - presenting a text despite Francis saying that politics should not be involved in the Synod, the second was about the Synod’s funding by the pro-abortion Ford Foundation.
Pentin had a third question for Cristiane Murray, the Deputy-Director of the Holy See Press Office, also present on the panel, who was called by Peruvian Cardinal Barreto "a co-founder" of REPAM asking her about her present affiliation with the group.
Murray took over answering the questions, also those addressed to Stella, explaining that the presence of the Communists was not at the Synod but at a "parallel event."
She denied having being a co-founder of REPAM, claiming that she was there only "as a journalist" and dodged Pentin's repeated question why then Cardinal Barreto had called her so.
Then Pentin asked for Cardinal Stella's answer, but Murray could not even recall the question. When Pentin repeated it, she replied: "This is the same question", meaning, she had already answered it. The same about the Ford Foundation: "we have already answered," Murray claimed and went on asking whether there were other questions in the room. Only at this point, Stella started saying something, revealing that he was totally clueless, "I would not know what to say."
The farce was concluded by Paolo Ruffini, the Vatican Prefect of the Dicastery for Communications, who launched another of his famous denials by claiming that the Synod was "not funded by the Ford Foundation" but by the Holy See" [with $2 millions received from the Ford Foundation?].
He lied into the camera that “nothing" in the leftwing Synod that invites Communists, could be interpreted "in a political manner.”
