Roman Rite Superiors Have Met in Courtalain

The Facebook page of the association Notre-Dame de Chrétienté which organises the annual Pilgrimage Paris-Chartres, announced that on August 31, the Superiors of the Ecclesia Dei Institutes met in Courtalain, France, where the Institute of the Good Shepherd is based, to discuss the mess created by Traditionis Custodes.

The text of the post says, "Following the publication of the motu proprio Traditionis Custodes , the superiors general of the main “Ecclesia Dei" communities met yesterday in Courtalain. For the defence of the traditional Mass, they will not give up on ANYTHING!"

"if" is the key word here @Defend Truth. ;-) @Koza Nutria Why? If you wish to attend a Mass celebrated by those not in full communion with The Catholic Church, you're in luck! The (orthodox) Church of St. Edward the Martyr is right there in Surrey. :)

I don't want to attend mass celebrated by those not in full communion. Why should I? You see question is who is not in full communion this days, who is in the church?
If teaching heresy kick you out the church then pope is not in communion for long time now. If you obey someone who is not in the church you are not in the church as well that's simple

That's a fair question. The answer to it is because unlike you, some Catholics are superficial people. They would rather attend a "traditional-looking" liturgy celebrated by schismatics than a Catholic Mass celebrated by bona-fide Catholic priests who within and thus are part of The Church.

That's an easy matter to clarify. The SSPX isn't. In his Apostolic Letter "Ecclesia Dei" Pope John Paul II confirmed the excommunication of Abp. Lefebvre and while doing so wrote that "formal adherence to the schism is a grave offence against God and carries the penalty of excommunication decreed by the Church's law."

In a word, the SSPX's clergy are NOT in The Church and neither are those in the laity who formally adhere to the SSPX's schismatic ideology.

It is a basic matter of Catholic principle, self-explanatory really, that The Pope is the temporal head of The Church, so he is irrefutably -IN- The Church by virtue of being head of it. Pope John Paul II confirmed the excommunication both of the SSPX's founder and made special mention that it also applies to anyone who "foramlly adheres" to the SSPX's schism.

See how easy that was? Glad I could help. :)

Hope not. We need Lefebvre back.

What will they do if Francis forbids saying the readings in Latin. Answer: Obey.

The greatest form of resistance available to the common faithful is to seek out and attend the Latin Mass.
