FSSP Distances Itself From PaixLiturgique.fr
The Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP) distances itself from PaixLiturgique.fr, reports LeSalonBeige.fr (19 January). Both the Fraternity and PaixLiturgique.fr follow the Roman Rite.
The background: Bishop Dognin of Quimper, France, announced the closure of the vibrant FSSP apostolate in Quimper, which was too close to his empty Novus Ordo cathedral, and went on to blame PaixLiturgique.fr for his decision (sic).
Originally, Dognin only wanted to move the FSSP from the city centre to a site on the outskirts of the city that was not served by public transport. PaixLiturgique.fr denounced this decision in two well-researched articles on 28 November and 12 December.
This "offended" the touchy Dognin so much that he decided to take revenge on the FSSP by banning it from his diocese, while at the same time praising (sic) the two FSSP priests working in Quimper.
Now, in a communiqué, the fraternity regrets that PaixLiturgique.fr published these articles and caused an alleged firestorm [in Dognin's …More
"The more the FSSP licks the boots of the Novus Ordo bishops, the more it gets its butt kicked." - Well said. No one respects a coward. This is so typical of the FSSP world wide.
They (VII prelates) have closed their churches to TLM Catholics and relegated us to auditoriums, hotel conference rooms, aging structures, and people's homes for years. This is nothing new. The problem with FSSP is that it was established in the VII church (JPII), and unfortunately is under the jurisdiction of Rome.
"
The more the FSSP licks the boots of the Novus Ordo bishops, the more it gets its butt kicked." This is what happens when faithful, traditional Catholics profess their loyalty either to their bishops, or to Bergoglio and his Homo Vatican. Time that we all stood up straight with pride and defied these bihops and Pope Francis. If they close one church or religious house, buy another independant of them. THey can't close down something over which they have no authority.
