Divisive Archbishop: In an interview Víctor Manuel Fernández whom Pope Francis made Rector of the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina, archbishop and leading member of the last Synod of Bishops attacked those - quote - “very few, not more than five” pro-family Cardinals who during the Synod admonished others not to jeopardize the unity of the Church or to fall into the trap of relativism. Fernández slams this as – quote – “threatening”, “violence” or even “a deplorable lack of respect”. His conclusion: “One has to recognize that they are far away from the style of Pope Francis and that these attitudes will cause in him a special rejection.”

Aggressive Mercy: Archbishop Fernández uses aggressive rhetorics when he speaks about mercy. He claims that Francis – quote – “has put an unprecedented accent on mercy.” Those who reply that mercy was not discovered by the present Pope, he calls “rigid” or “decrepit structures which resist the changes” or “violent defenders of a philosophical ideology”.

One Voice Matters: Fernández hopes that in preparation of the next year’s Synod the Episcopal Conferences will open what he calls a “space of dialogue” with the laity. Quote: “But not only with those who are part of family movements and ecclesiastical structures. We need to hear the voice of families in all its breadth.” Gloria.tv believes that the bishops need to hear more carefully the voice of Christ in all its breadth.

Homosex Church: Nearly 8,000 have resigned from the Lutheran Church in Finland, after the nation’s parliament approved homosex marriage and the Lutheran State-Archbishop, Mister Kari Mäkinen stated in a Facebook post: “I know how much this day means for rainbow people, their loved ones and many others. I rejoice with my whole heart for them and with them.” And: “We are in the same situation as our neighboring Nordic Churches: our concept of marriage needs a fundamental examination. Speaking for myself, I think it is time for reconsideration.”
