A Roman judge closed legal procedures against the modernist Capuchin Father Giovanni Salonia, 72, whom a nun had accused of “sexual violence” in 2017.

The claims stopped Salonia’s episcopal consecration. He had been named an auxiliary of Palermo Archbishop Lorefice.

Salonia made his first profession als a Capuchin when he was 16.
