Santa Maria e San Giovenale Basilica in Fossano, Italy, a neoclassical masterpiece consecrated in 1791, has been defaced with a Novus Ordo supper-table, a bishop's chair, and an upright pipe.
The meal table looks like the base for a coffin and the bishop's chair like a launching ramp. The function of the pipe is a mystery.
The culprit for this is Cuneo-Fossano Bishop Pietro Delbosco, 68, who was happy to disfigure the beautiful basilica with the money of the faithful.
