A traffic police patrol stopped a man last weekend in a pinewood near Migliarino, Italy, a drug dealing area.
He had just arrived hastily from the pinewood. A male friend was waiting in his car. The officers suspected the purchase of drugs and invited the man to hand them over. Since the amount was small, he was not charged but reported to the Prefecture as an addict, which, among others, may lead to the withdrawal of his driving licence.
The man who was casually dressed was then identified as a parish-priest in Lucca archdiocese. Lucca Archbishop Monsignor Paolo Giulietti released a note saying that he “immediately took steps to understand the circumstances of what happened” and is now “discussiong the matter” with the priest.
This is the second case of drug/homosex-related offences committed by priests within days in this area.

Immediately took steps to understand the circumstances?? How many steps are needed to understand the circumstances when a priest is caught buying drugs with his "male friend"? That calls for reprimands not "discussing"
