God's actions are perfect - He wastes no movement, so to speak. Legitimate miracles have always been in service to either a specific message in public or private revelation. The Tilma of Guadalupe or Fatima's Miracle of the Sun, for example. The evil spirit, on the other hand, will perform miracles apropos of nothing, and they serve to dazzle and confuse.
