Francis, Protestants Belong To The Redeemed

Pope Francis prayed on January 25 during a vespers service together with Lutherans, Anglicans, Methodists and other Christians.

At this event Francis referred to "differences [that] tear us apart" but then claimed "that we belong to the people of the redeemed, to the same family of brothers and sisters loved by the only Father.”

According to Catholic teaching Confession and Holy Eucharist are not an optional but necessary in order to be redeemed.

Protestantism is a heresy, plain and simple because it only requires scripture alone and faith alone, to be saved. It is contrary to God's will that His son be sacrificed for our sins to make heaven accessible to us. So, those outside the Church through their heresy cannot gain any merit. If pope Francis wants to show true charity then he would work to convert these groups to Christ's true Church.
