Paris Police Arrested Six Christians Protesting Blasphemous Olympic Ceremony

On Monday night six members of CitizenGo were arrested in Paris for several hours after protesting the blasphemous opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.

They were driving with a campaign bus with the message "Stop attacks on Christians". The bus also displayed a picture of the actors parodying the Last Supper and the original painting by Leonardo da Vinci.

After driving for hours without incident, the bus was stopped by a police officer and surrounded by armed police.

The activists were arrested at around 6.30 p.m. for "organizing a demonstration without a permit from the French government." However, these public regulations in Paris apply to formal street demonstrations, not to a lone bus with a simple message.

The Christians were taken to a police station, stripped and searched. They were not released until the next morning, after a lawyer intervened.

In the end, prosecutors decided that there was no basis for charges. They spoke of "irregular" procedures during the arrests. The motive for the arrests was "not precise enough".

The video below shows the Christians in the police van before being handcuffed.
