No Demand: Cardinal Abolishes Lay Sunday Services
Utrecht Cardinal Willem Eijk, 69, Netherlands, is ending lay Sunday services, he announced in October 2022.
But this will only happen “gradually” over the next five years, provided that the Novus Ordo Church still exists then in the Netherlands
From January 2028, priestless communion services on Sundays will be allowed "only in exceptional situations.” The argument of "exceptional situations" has been used to introduce a church-wide proliferation of any type of abuses.
In January, the media of the Dutch oligarchs were still hoping to stir up unrest against Eijk's decision. He replied in a February 14 letter that the Eucharist should “take its rightful central place” among Catholics.
Protestant-style ceremonies without priests have been held in Untrecht for decades. Attendance is now minimal.
