Laicized Ex-Bishop Who Married Erotic Novelist Becomes Subject of TV Drama

A fictional television series about the life of ex-Bishop Xavier Novell of Solsona, Spain, and his relationship with author Silvia Caballol, is in development, 3cat.cat reported (March 26).

Novell resigned as bishop in August 2021 to pursue a relationship with Caballol, who was pregnant at the time. Fourteen years his junior, Caballol is known for her erotic novels with satanic themes. She is divorced and has three children from a previous relationship.

The couple entered into a civil partnership in November 2021. They welcomed twins in April 2022 and were married in Church in April 2024.

Production company La Manchester has reached a preliminary agreement with Caballol for the project.

Previously, Caballol has sought public opinion on social media about selling her ungodly biography to a production company. She admitted that the ex-bishop would prefer to maintain his privacy.

On March 27, she posted a photo alongside journalist Ricard Ustrell and Francesc Cano, general director of La Manchester, with the caption 'Comencem l’aventura' ("We are beginning the adventure").

On the one hand, his episcopal consecration is doubtfully valid. On the other hand, at least he “married” a woman (that’s progress in h-o-m-o church).

Spain was a Catholic nation, now is it one of the most pagan in Europe.

“Remove the influence of divine law in a Christian country, leaving the freedom which it gave women, and soon you will see this noble and touching freedom degenerate into disgraceful license. Women will become the disastrous instruments of a universal corruption.” (de Maistre)
