The Vatican has categorically banned so-called "synodal councils" - joint governing bodies of laity and clergy based on the Anglican model. This was announced by the nuncio in Berlin, Nikola Eterović, on February 27 at the start of the bishops' meeting in Dresden.
Eterović said he had been mandated ex officio to clarify the Vatican's January letter. A bishop "according to a correct interpretation of the content of this letter," may not establish "synodal councils" even at diocesan or parish level.
Presiding Bishop Bätzing said the same day that he had responded to the January letter explaining the goal of such councils and that they should be set up in the next three years.
Eterović's statement was directed at Magdeburg Bishop Feige, who had claimed in January that the ban on "synodal councils" would not apply to the diocesan and parish level.

I'm surprised the Vatican did anything. Now the ball is in their court again. Most of the German bishops are heretics and apostates. They should all be excommunicated and laicized. If any further hard action against them is taken...such as suspending them/removing them from their dioceses, or actually excommunicating them, I'll be surprised. But there is 1 good thing in all this. About a dozen priests, clerical and lay theologians, and lay representatives who supported this "Synodal Way", have now renounced it and quit. It looks like the "German Synodal Way" might be headed to disaster........and likewise Francis' own "Synod on Synodality". That is a good thing too.😂😂😂🙏

The Vatican has banned the Tridentine rite-- so what? Their authority in matters of the Real Presence is equivalent to the Priest's who has been canonically ordained by a Bishop. In other words, it is no greater than the Priest's in the distant outback of Australia.
