GracePointe, a Franklin, Tennessee, Evangelical megachurch was praised two years ago for embracing gay ideology. Pastor Stan Mitchell was even hailed in Time magazine.
However, half of the congregation’s 2,200-person membership quickly decamped following the gay announcement. Now the very fate of GracePointe is at risk. A visitor to a recent service counted approximately 240 attendees, a fraction of the number that once participated.
Therefore GracePointe has leased out its property to the Evangelical Group Cross Point which says about itself, “While Cross Point’s ministry is innovative, what we believe about God is not. Our core beliefs are centred in Christ and His message as found in the Bible.”
The Protestant Aquila Report comments, “Walking away from Jesus is not a catalyst for church growth. On the contrary, it is the catalyst for church death.” Pope Francis should remember this.

“While Cross Point’s ministry is innovative, what we believe about God is not" - what a great line from the new lessee!
