The head of the Russian Orthodox, Patriarch Kirill, slipped on the damp marble floor of a church in Novorossiysk, southern Krasnodar, by the Black Sea, during liturgy. People surrounding him immediately rushed to help him up. The service continued.
He was consecrating that church.
Kiril assured later that the fall did not harm him, “The floor is beautiful, you can look into it – it’s so shiny and smooth. But when water falls on it, even holy water, the laws of physics start working.“
