Francis’ Star Theologian Publishes Comedic “Ode to the Parish Priest”
La Plata Archbishop Víctor Manuel Fernández, Argentina, the author of “Heal me with your mouth. The art of kissing” and Francis’ star theologian published an “Ode to the Parish Priest.”
He writes that for a priest “there is nothing more beautiful than being a parish priest.” Fernández calls the parish-priest “a clay pot of the Holy Spirit” who “is not a bachelor” because his [dead Novus Ordo] parish "is his wife,” and he is “on pilgrimage” with it.
According to Fernández, the parish-priest lives among the people “without trying to stand out” although – a contradiction - “through him the Holy Spirit is [allegedly] poured out like water, like perfumed oil” and “he lives a sincere pride in the gift that God has given him.”
It is revealing that Fernández who was ordained over 35 years ago was a parish-priest only for seven years. Pius X (+1914) was the last pope who has been a parish-priest between 1867-1875.
