Washington D.C.: Evidently This Was “NO” Hate Crime (Video)

An unidentified criminal amputated with a hammer the nose and the hands of the Our Lady of Fatima statue outside the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C.

On the night of December 5, the criminal climbed over the outer fence of the basilica, entered the garden, and was filmed by a surveillance camera.

He first cut off the statue’s hands and then disfigured her face, taking the severed hands with him. The crown was also damaged.

It goes without saying that police do not believe that this was a 'hate crime' as the Shrine is only Catholic and not Jewish. The Carrara marble statue has a value of $250,000.

From May to October, there were 100 acts of “vandalism” against Catholic sites in the US.

I have not seen any evidence this was done by more than an individual who likely is taught by schools that any deviation from them is wrong. Or, they could have been a Catholic who was taught self loathing in schools.
