French Abuse Report Revealed As Fraud: Francis Cancels Audience for Author
Sauvé cobbled together an absurd "abuse report" for the French bishops. Gloria.tv was among the few outlets who discovered the fraud from the beginning.
The likely reason for the cancelled audience: La Croix reports (November 25) that eight members of the Catholic Academy of France published a 15-page document denouncing the report for methodological, theological and juridical weaknesses and risky analyses.
The signatories include the Academy's president, Hugues Portelli (French senator, professor for Political Sciences), Father Jean-Robert Armogathe (historian), Pierre Manent (philosopher), and Father Philippe Capelle-Dumont (philosopher).
They stress that the pretended number of "330,000 victims" of homosexual abuse, the only figure cited by the media, sharply contrasts with the number of real testimonies, which amounted to only 2,738 unconfirmed reports spanning over many decades.
The document notices a lack of "scientific rigour" and a "disproportionate assessment" constructed as "groundwork for proposals to overthrow the Church-institution.”
Further they call it "deplorable" that a report that has cost so much displays “an imperfect ecclesiology, a weak exegesis, an outdated moral theology.”
In 2013, Sauvé presided over the 2013 annual dinner of the Grande Loge de France.
