Francis knew about the London property deal and approved the negotiations with the Italian financier Gianluigi Torzi, including a maximum €20 million commission for Torzi.
The lawyer of Monsignor Mauro Carlino - Cardinal Becciu’s ex-secretary - said this to LaStampa.it (November 5).
According to the lawyer, Carlino reduced Torzi’s claim to €15 million, thus saving for the Vatican €5 million.
