US Bishop Implements Traditionis Custodes – Ensures Daily Latin Mass

Bishop Gregory Parkes of St Petersburg, Florida, has converted the parochial church Epiphany in Tampa into a diocesan shrine, effective July 1.

The move followed a "careful study" of Pope Francis’ Traditionis Custodes, the bulletin of the Epiphany parish announced on March 25 (below).

The newly established Shrine will be known as the Epiphany of Our Lord Shrine. It will be a place for Roman Rite Catholics.

Monsignor Parkes has entrusted the pastoral care to the priests of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priests. The Institute will recommend clergy to the Bishop to staff the Shrine.

Two other churches in the Diocese of St. Petersburg offer the Mass in the Roman Rite: St. Anthony the Abbot, Brooksville, and St. Justin Martyr, Largo. Both do so with an indult from the Vatican.

Sweet, sweet... fr. Palka will be happy.

They don’t need an induct from the Vatican to say the Latin Mass. Quo Primum, decreed by St pope Pius V, declares no one can censor the Latin Mass.

The TLM is greatly restricted in my province.
Let's never forget the parishes that stopped public mass during the pandemic. Much of the Church leadership has lost its way.
