Benedict's Banker Was Fired Without Benedict's Knowledge

Wanting to reform Vatican finances, Benedict XVI namend in 2009 the excellent Italian banker Ettore Gotti Tedeschi as the president of the Vatican's bank.

But Marco Tosatti told LifeSiteNews.com (January 6) that this reform "was blocked from inside the Vatican" and Gotti was [allegedly] "fired without Benedict knowing it."

After that, Benedict “realised that he was not governing anymore.” Tosatti excuses Benedict’s helplessness with the argument that he was "too kind" and should have been a "head-cutter".

An example for Tosatti is Benedict's incompetent Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone, whom Benedict could not depose, although friends like Cardinals Meisner or Ruini advised him to do so.
