Thanks for the info Brother Tom, but I went to a Franciscan University in Pennsylvania and from who I met there this doesn't surprise me. Even the Franciscan University of Steubenville has a professor who promotes a the Neocatechumenal way. A way that, in my opinion, takes the Mass and reduces it to just being a supper. The Franciscan are also very very invovled in promoting Medjugorje and the more I hear about some to the things happening there and many other things I have experienced, I feel that the Franciscan have alot to do with a great many of errors in the Church presently. I even taught at a form poor Clairs University in Iowa as an adjunct profesor right before the University went completely secular via a buy out and was astonsished by what I found.

Also to RANT about one more thing! This last weekend at Mass, CORPUS CHRISTI, the priest had the gull to tell the congration not to bow or genuflect towards the Tabernacle anymore! We should all bow or genuflect only toward the ALTER! I AM SO SICK OF THIS STUPIDITY!

The picture above shows Friars Minor Conventual (OFM Conv) but the statement is from the American provinces of the Friars Minor (OFM or 'Leonine Union') and only the American provinces - they don't speak for the entire order and certainly not for the Conventuals, Capuchins, Third Order Regular, or any other Franciscan communities. It may very well only come from the provincial leadership teams and not from all the friars. There are bound to be friars who object to this statement. The picture itself is misleading and ought to be changed. The statement does not surprise me. The rot has spread far and found the right conditions in the US and it has continued on from there. Vatican II's instruction to return to our roots was never fully implemented. We friars 'cherry-picked' from Sts Francis and Clare and some left out the bits about loyalty to the Pope and to the Church's Tradition. The results are becoming ever clearer. Pray brothers and sisters, Pray!

It doesn't matter if it were 7 out of seven orders of Franciscans or if it were 7 out of 30, it is still a public scandal and further indication of the lack of discipline, orthodoxy and unity within the post VC-II Catholic Church.

You are making a distinction that makes no difference.

The fact is that 7 different Franciscan provinces backed these nuns... 7 different Franciscan provinces.

If you are making the unsubstantiated and bizarre claim that these 7 different Franciscan provinces represent just one unified order supporting these nuns, then prove it with a link.

While you're at it, why don't you post the source for your initial claim that there are a number of Franciscan orders, and this (the Franciscans supporting the dissenting sisters) is just one of them.

Well - After the disaster of the passed 40-50 years I find it really hard to understand why anyone could come out in support of the LCWR. These friars are either on another planet or in a really isolated cloister.
