Benedict XVI Renounces His Brother’s Inheritance

Benedict XVI has renounced the inheritance left by his brother Monsignor Georg, who died on July 1, IlSismografo writes.

The inheritance includes Georg's pieces and musical arrangements, plus a small library, and family photos.

Benedict XVI is the last survivor of the Ratzinger family. His sister Maria (+1991) was not married. Georg's inheritance will go to the Vatican.

KNA.de wrote that Benedict said that he carries his brother's memories "in his heart" and that he can no longer "collect material goods."

Perhaps Benedict does not see the SSPX as "upholding the Faith etc." @Hanna Veronica I would surmise Benedict renounced the inheritance outright so no one could ever accuse him of retaining any of the funds for his own personal benefit.
