Hoarse Pope Francis: "I Have a Severe Cold"

Francis apologized at today's general audience in the Paul VI Hall for not being able to read the text he had prepared because he is suffering from a "severe cold."

"With this severe cold, it is difficult to speak. I have asked my brother to read the catechesis and he will read it better than I can," Francis said with a hoarse voice and a cough.

The reflections were read by Father Pierluigi Giroli, an official of the Secretariat of State.

Give him some good hot strong Herbal Tea with Honey and Lemon, and feed him some homemade Chicken Noodle Soup; rub his chest down with Vicks Vapor Rub and tuck him in under some nice heavy quilts and blankets so he can sweat it out. If that doesn’t cut it give him a few of doses of Castor Oil. He’ll be fit as a fiddle the next day.
