This is the circus maximus par excellence! My neo-cat conservative friends will say, "but this is an abuse." Saddly, or hilariously, it is actually not. The rubrics of the novus ordo mass do not specify a specific style of music, or give any rubrics for the attire of the laity, other than being modestly dressed according to the customs of the community. Thus, the argument that this is an abuse fails, because it is a legitimate option, according to the regulas of the OF mass, the same ones that allow the Charismatic and Life Teen mass.

But, this is an abomination and blasphamy. Until the novus ordo is reformed with the traditional options as the only rubric, celebrated ad orientem and in an extraordinary way, I'll keep attending the TLM.

are at the “conservative” end of the spectrum of the
Brazilian Catholic Church. They are recognised by their
full dress, and make any SSPX priest look underdressed;
only the Palmarian Catholic Church has excelled the SSJV.

The SSJV has reconciled with the Holy See and has been
uniquely established as a Personal Apostolic Administration.
In his first pastoral letter Bishop Fernando Rifan spoke of
the unfortunate effects that had occurred as a result
of the SSJV's seeking to preserve the Catholic faith.

“... a certain schismatic spirit that showed itself in
a general taste for systematic criticism of Church
authorities, a spirit of resistance, disobedience,
disrespect, suspicion, backbiting, independence
from the Church's Hierarchy and Magisterium,
contentment with the abnormality of the situation,
uncharitableness, a feeling of owning the whole
of truth, a sectarian attitude that made us
out to be the only good people ...”

This did not and would not occur in an SSPX chapel. It's part of the "In Union with Rome" bunch who promote this kind of nonsense. Who wants to get on a ship when that ship is sinking? Look at the stats.

...and what was that about the Holy Father steering the Church back on course? Wishful thinking not supported by the facts.

This video has been shown elsewhere and it appears that at least it was not part of a Mass (thanks be to God for small mercies). Everyone blames Vatican II but it was Paul VI who permitted a period of experimentation. Once the cat is out of the bag it is very hard to get it back in. Slowly, slowly these bishops are being replaced. It can be a bit hit and miss with their replacements (as we know in Ireland) but the Holy Father is steering the Church back on course. As for the SSPX one cannot contribute to the running of the ship by tagging along outside.

2000 years ago Christ gave His Church the divine commission to make disciples of all nations. Evidently the geniuses in Brazil (including the bishop) think that these kinds of absurd spectacles will appeal to the nuts and sluts of that country who are not interested in the sacred Traditions of the Church including the Traditional Latin Mass.

Further proof that post VC-II, discipline, solemnity and order is lacking within the universal Catholic Church.

Not only will these people get away with it, they will be praised by secular media which will embolden clerics even further to repeat and perhaps add a few more bells and whistles to the carnival like atmosphere. Then other dioceses will jump on board.....

and the saga continues.

Then as the woman approached the sanctuary I noticed the Bishop was presiding over this debacle...

Ecclesial Assassins! That is what we need to remove the cancer from the Mystical Body of Christ. The hirelings would think twice if there was a good chance of them being taken out. Only then may we get some real shepherds who are willing to die for the true faith.

Just as I was OUTRAGED about the comments against liturgical dancing, I'm OUTRAGED about the comments here.
Don't you people understand that Vatican II called for the windows of Church to be OPENED to the world? This is part of that opening!

Circus music and skating are definitely part of the world. And we're to be OPEN to the world. Therefore we're to be open to all things - including circus music and skating.

These are wonderful things, you grouches! And so are happy men spinning on suspended carousels. Get with it! Is there something WRONG with happiness?

And did you not hear the applause? That's right, APPLAUSE! Here's a clue: this is what we, THE PEOPLE OF GOD, want. And we're getting it.
