But Father Michael Pfleger, pastor of St. Sabina’s Parish in Chicago, took things a step further. As seen on WGN’s “News at Nine” on Sunday, Pfleger spoke to his congregation with an unusual prop: Martin’s likeness was slumped at the church altar, complete with a red hoodie, a bag of Skittles and an Arizona Ice Tea.

In our catholic church as part of the priest attire we do find that a hood especially a white one is use and is accepted. Some might know it as a Cappa Magna. Others might call it a Capucha, but regardless the name it is acceptable for priest to wear it. There are other hats worn by priest called Biretta. I have seen priest wear a white hood that they are exposing The Eucharist while they are blessing …More

I have seen priest wear a white hood that they are exposing The Eucharist while they are blessing the parishioners. What Father Pleger did as a remembrance to the teenager that past, is his tribute. But we as Catholics before judging our faith we need to know it. Hope this helps many who are seeing this as something negative. Jesus is the church and he always left a clear message that what he wants for us is to unite with his people. I think that this Priest did was exactly that he united in solidarity with the people, the ones left behind full of grief, sorrow and pain.

The hoodie priest? He's in solidarity with what a oxford philosopher Roger Scruton calls the "culture of self-repudiation", and Max Scheler described as the "culture of resentment" aka left wing-marxist-anti Western ideologies. Pfleger wasn't gone from his territory very long ...

For those who don’t know him, Pfleger is a dissident Catholic, a bitter leftist, and a race baiter. The Archbishop removed him from his parish a while back, but then regrettably restored him.

Does everyone know that murder is the leading cause of death of young black men? And that 93% of those murders are committed by other black men?
If we really want to protect the children and all that, we have to address the ghetto culture and all of the elements which contribute to the violence.
While tragic, this one death is hardly typical. From listening to the liberals, you would swear that America has not changed since the days of Emmitt Till, and that the biggest threat to black youth is a racist with a gun.
In fact, the biggest threat to black youth is other blacks with guns, but that fact does not fit the liberal narrative, so that fact is ignored.
