Chrism Mass: Francis Insists on Forcing Priests to Co-Preside
Roman Rite priests must be forced to co-preside Novus Ordo eucharists, “at least for Chrism Mass,” Francis told some French bishops during an April 21 meeting.
Francis’ claim contradicts Canon Law. According to FamilleChretienne.fr (April 21) the bishops present were de Moulins-Beaufort (Reims), Blanchet (Créteil), Leborgne (Arras), and their secretary.
Francis insisted “with force” that the decree exempting the Fraternity of St Peter from Traditionis Custodes was his own. He didn’t mention other Roman Rite Institutes.
Neither Francis nor the bishops mentioned "The Roman Way," an initiative of mothers of Roman Rite priests who are currently marching from Paris to Rome.
