Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Catholic Church Cooperate

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation works "very extensively" with the Catholic Church, Melinda Gates told the BBC. A key part of the foundation is promoting contraception. Gates had “many discussions” with Catholics and thinks that there is "a shared mission" around social justice and anti-poverty innovations.

She is “optimistic” that Pope Francis will change the Church teaching on contraception “over time”. Gates was raised a Catholic.
