Survey: Conformist Francis Faction Dying Out
Those who identify as “progressive” [who live in the 1960s] are dying out among US seminarians, according to the largest national survey of Catholic clerics conducted in more than 50 years.
The survey of 3,516 priests in 191 dioceses was conducted by the CatholicProject.Catholic.edu research group at The Catholic University of America in Washington.
80% of priests ordained after 2020 describe themselves as conservative/orthodox.
Less than 5% of the young priests describe themselves as "progressive" while 70% of those ordained in the mid- to late 1960s do so.
The report found a “significant divide” between older and younger priests, and concludes that the number of priests who describe themselves as "liberal" or "progressive" has been in steady decline since Vatican II "and has now all but vanished”.
