For Pastoral Reasons: US Archdiocese Won't Implement Francis' Rigidity

Detroit Archbishop Allen Vigneron has asked parishes to find alternative churches in which to celebrate Roman Mass by 1 July, 2024.

He is also granting a two-year permission to celebrate Mass in parish churches for pastoral reasons. The archdiocese owns many chapels and secondary churches that are beautiful and architecturally significant.

Since May 10, priests must apply for permission to continue or to start celebrating Mass. Vigneron will also grant a dispensation to celebrate Mass and to preside a Eucharist on the same day, if necessary.

Detroit has a large number of Mass locations. There are 14 Sunday Masses.

Good for Vigeron. He's not a conservative, but not a radical either. I hope more bishops in the USA and around the world REFUSE
