Was Francis’ Celebration of Vilnius Martyrs A Mockery of Those in China?
During his recent Apostolic Visit to the Baltic states, Pope Francis hailed in Vilnius the martyrs of National Socialism and Communism. But Father Bernardo Cervellera of Asia News pointed out that in all these years Pope Francis has been silent about any persecution in China: the killing of priests; the destroyed churches; the arrested bishops. Therefore the celebration of the martyrs in Vilnius could be seen as a mockery of the suffering of the Chinese Catholics.

Archbishop Gian Carlo Perego of Ferrara, Italy, has protested in the main square of Ferrara together with Manuela Macario, the president of Arcigay, the local homosex lobby, against – quote – “homo-transphobia”.
