NBC News: “The Republican Platform no longer calls for a Federal abortion ban and no longer defines marriage between one man and one woman. Is this a sign your father (Donald Trump) is moving to the center?”
Eric Trump: “My father has ALWAYS been there on those issues. That’s reflective of my father and what he believes in… and my wife Lara who runs the RNC and what she believes in. At the end of the day, this country has holes in the roof and you’ve got to fix those holes and stop worrying about the spot on the wall in the basement.”

What a ridiculous and callous reply. Murdering the unborn is certainly not a "spot on the wall." BTW can man fix anything without the assistance of God. Answer: no, history tells us that.

It's all about getting elected They don't realize that America is in a mess because we have turned our backs to Christ. That is especially true of Catholic, lay and clerical.

It’s very disappointing, for sure, but the US Bishops have preferred to focus their lobbying on causes favored by the dems, and have not moved the dems one iota on abortion, same sex “marriage” or any other issue that pertains to acts that are “bad by reason of their object.” On the other hand, the GOP has been “conservative” on social issues because of evangelicals, the Southern Baptists particularly. Evangelicalism is completely unreliable on these things, and the Southern Baptists have pretty much been flushed down the sewer. Add to that the fact that pro-lifers have focused so much on overturning Roe, which Trump succeeded in doing. They are politicians, in a country that has an increasingly corrupt populace. It’s up to the Church to be focused on bringing people to repentance, which will improve the political situation. That’s not happening in any way shape or form. No political party is going to do the Church’s job.
