What Do We Do with the Sinner? On Friday Pope Francis published a letter about the protection of minors in the Church. In it he affirms – quote – “my conviction that everything possible must be done to rid the Church of the scourge of the sexual abuse of minors”. And: “There is absolutely no place in ministry for those who abuse minors.” Fair enough, but the letter contains no advice how to deal in a merciful manner with the sinners who have committed abuse.
Politically Correct Mercy: The ultraliberal Italian archbishop Bruno Forte wrote a very flattering introduction to a book with Angelus addresses of Pope Francis. Forte points to the Pope’s insistence on mercy toward everybody, - quote – “even and especially to those who are in difficult situations in reference to the canonical norms or moral law”. Francis admitted in this first angeleus that he learned his concept of "mercy" from Kasper.
In his first angelus Francis describing Cardinal Kasper as a "superb theologian," and Francis said his book on mercy "has done me so much good, so much good."
So Francis admitted that he learned his gospel from the book of a heretical man because the gospel of Francis comes from man not from our Lord.
