We had a teachers meeting prior to classes beginning on Aug. 28th (Monday). We also were assigned our new classrooms. My old one was smaller, and on the third floor. My one I got this year is much bigger, very sunny, and three doors down from the lobby. Not bad!! But on each of our desks when we eventually went to our new classrooms, I found on my desk in small plastic bags, about 40 "Gay flags", with a suggestion to put one on each student's desk. Two women teachers across the hall from my classroom are all excited....putting the flags on their students desks, and they even bought their own "Gay affirming" posters to hang on the wall. Not me!!! I took the 40 "gay flags" and put them on a cabinet/table by a side window. Come Monday, 8/28, any student who wants one can take one, but I'm not going to suggest it, or applaud it or promote it. NO WAY!

TRANs in sports is ruining the whole idea of sports, especially for women sports. It very funny though, because here in the USA, most of the people who support LGBTQ's and TRANS are all women. Very few men support TRANS. Monday is our first day back at class after a great Summer. It went by too fast. I hope you had a good summer too. I'm looking forward to getting back to teaching. But I posted about the new agenda adopted at my public highschool where we now have to be welcoming and supportive to any student who identifies as LGBTQ or TRANs. Some of the women teachers are VERY enthusiastic about this new change, but I am just going to do the bare minimum. There's an opening script to read off of on Monday for each class we teach, encouraging students to be supportive of LGBTQ's and TRANS. I'm going to read part of the script, but skip this paragraphs that "We endeavor to provide a learning environment where each student can feel that they are a respected and valued as members of our academic community, and especially where LGBTQ and TRANS students can feel welcome and encouraged to learn and grow academically, and to express themselves according to how they see themselves, knowing that they can come to any faculty advisor with any issues they feel necessary to address in full confidentiality and with our respect and support in their choices." I'm not interested in being one of their faculty advisors You are lucky that this probably is not happening in S. Korea!
