Not Entirely Positive? Cardinal Müller, the prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, has demanded in front of the anti-Catholic German Herder-Korrespondenz that the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X recognize unconditionally religious freedom as a human right and a quote – “commitment to ecumenism”. Müller conceded that the last fifty years were – quote – “not entirely positive” for the Church.

The Driver Becomes the Archivist: On May 26, hundred-year-old Cardinal Loris Capovilla, the former private secretary of John XXIII, died. Everybody expected that his historically important archive, photos, notices and correspondence would go to the Pope John XXIII foundation. But now it became known that Capovilla put Ivan Bastoni in charge of his inheritance. Bastoni is a simple layman who in the last years used to help the cardinal as a driver and escort.

He is the Pope’s unofficial theologian and a staunched supporter of Medjugorje because he needs to please the many Medjugorie supporters in Vienna.

Call to Disobedience: Valencia Cardinal Antonio Cañizares, the former Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship has asked after Corpus Christi procession to disobey laws based – quote – “on the most insidious and destructive ideology of humanity throughout history, which is the gender ideology."

Good for Cardinal Cañizares, speaking boldly and clearly the truth. Recently I saw a car bumper sticker that said, "Truth: The New Hate Speech." It certainly seems to be the way many think, or that truth must be proven (as if guilty until proven innocent) to walk with charity.
