Emanuela was the daughter of a Vatican employee who lived in the Vatican with his family. In June 1983 she disappeared in the centre of Rome and was never seen again.
A study commissioned by the lawyer Valter Biscotti shows that between May and June 1983 there was a “very high concentration” of disappearances of girls aged between 15-16 in the centre of Rome.
There is a list of 177 missing women. 39 of them disappeared between 1982 and 1983 in Rome or its surroundings.
Within a radius of 2.5 km from the place where Emanuela was last seen, there are six missing persons cases. If this radius is extended to 5 km, there are 15 cases.
16 girls, aged between 14 and 18, disappeared between May and June 1983 alone.
