Schönborn Not Worried by Contradictory Teachings

Liberal Cardinal Christoph Schönborn (72) of Vienna is “not really” troubled that different bishops interpret the controversial document Amoris Laetitia in a contradictory way. “Reception is always a long process”, he told cruxnow.com on Tuesday.

Schönborn aims at getting in touch “with the spirit of Amoris Laetitia”. This will “need time,” and, "It needs discussion, and I’m not afraid that the voices of the bishops and of the laity aren’t fully concordant.”

According to Facebook user Linda C. most of what Schönborn says in the interview is, “a pathetically transparent, desperate and stupid attempt at gaslighting [manipulating]”.

Bergoglio: I recommend that you read the presentation of Cardinal Schonborn, who is a great theologian. He was the secretary for the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, and he knows the doctrine of the faith well. In that presentation, your question will find an answer.

Speaking of reception being a long process, let's take Humanae Vitae as an example. The truth almost always has a long reception in each of our hearts. Amoris Laetitia seems to invite a long reception of truth's demise.
