If a lay person is elected he is then ordained priest then bishop. I know this was possible in the past,if there is current legislation to the contrary I am not aware of it.

I heard the only actual qualifications are an adult Baptized and Confirmed Catholic male (lay or clergy) in good standing with the Church. Is that just a myth?

I have two favorites for the next conclave: Cardinals Ranjith or Eijk.
