Manoeuvre: No Mass for Biden

U.S. President Joe Biden's attendance at Francis’ morning Eucharist has been nixed from an early plan, CatholicNewsAgency.com (June 14) was told by a “reliable” Vatican source.

Biden who is presently in Europe, is taking off the morning of June 15 to meet Francis and had requested to attend Francis’ Eucharist.

Francis declined after considering the impact it would have had on the discussions of the US bishops, who plan to discuss "Eucharistic coherence" at their meeting a day later.

His tactic of promoting one side by playing both sides would have been thwarted by Biden receiving communion from him.

U.S. Vice President Biden met Francis when he attended the September 2015 Philadelphia World meeting of Families and during an April 2016 Vatican summit on regenerative medicine.

Our beloved bishops have been having a debate about whether to debate the issue of Communion for the likes of Joe Biden
.
After 48.5 years and 62 million dead babies the American bishops have gotten around to almost debating a fitting penalty for Catholic politicians who cooperate materially and formally in mass murder of babies through funding Planned Parenthood with billions of dollars, paying for abortion with Medicaid monies (An average of 45,000 Medicaid-funded abortions in New York State EVERY SINGLE YEAR for the past 20 years for which records are available online in the annual vital statistics reports, Table 24 in each New York State annual vital statistics report), sabotaging pro-life SCOTUS nominees, etc.

But this debate over whether to debate is progress.
Maybe after ANOTHER HALF-CENTURY and ANOTHER 60 million abortions someone might ask why such cooperation does not qualify for latae sententiae excommunication. They might ask why a boyfriend who pays for his girlfriend's abortion incurs automatic excommunication, but Catholic politicians who craft stand-alone legislation to fund Planned Parenthood, and vote more than half a of a billion dollars ANNUALLY for them not only do not incur automatic excommunication, but why it has taken half a century to get to the point where the bishops are debating whether to debate about simply witholding the Eucharist.

To those who deploy the hackneyed, "We don't know what's in their hearts," Jesus said,
"By their fruits shall you know them."

With Biden, Cuomo, Pelosi, et al., we know their hearts and minds. They express them loudly, PROUDLY, and consistently.

Still.... after a half-century and 62 million dead, I guess we can call this progress. I just think our bishops are better than this.

Our Lord has been spared the presence of these two! Be thankful for the little things that are not so little!
