Arguments that attempt to justify wrong by stating others did worse or others do it too are specious. Yet this seems to be the major defense of Father Perone. Father used a 2 month old fetus as a prop in his campaign to influence voting by placing it on what appeared to be (as it was set up to appear) an altar with candles on either side of the fetus. If a fetus has the same dignity and rights as a dead person who once lived outside the womb, then this was an abuse of corpse and Father could expect to be arrested and charged with same. There are many examples of zealots who take their cause, even their morally correct cause, to a level where they can justify evil behavior. It is hard to find your way in the conciliar church.
