Today, Pope Leo XIV has appointed Monsignor Benedito Araújo as the new Bishop of Campo Maior, Brazil (45 priests).
Bishop Araújo was born on November 21, 1963, in Paço do Lumiar, Brazil. He earned a licentiate on "ecumenism" in Venice, Italy.
He was ordained a priest in 1991 and worked as seminary rector, parish priest, and professor.
Benedict XVI. appointed him Bishop of Guajará-Mirim in 2011 (only a dozen priests).

Any relatively good episcopal picks so far by Leo? I haven't seen any. My archdiocese of Denver will be getting a new archbishop very soon; it's six weeks since our current archbishop turned 75. Am I shaking in my boots? No, I am a Cubs' fan, and so I expect the worst.
