Bishop of Puerto Rico Mocks Cardinal Burke
Bishop Ángel Luis Ríos Matos, 67, of Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, mocked Cardinal Raymond Burke at a September 8 conference on "synodality" (video below).
Referring to Francis, Monsignor Ríos spoke against "liturgical vestments" and "lace" which Francis himself uses.
He projected images of Cardinal Burke dressed in a Cardinal's hat and in a Cappa magana. Bishop Ríos said: "Look how beautiful this is. I should have covered his face, for those who know him".
The bishop encouraged the audience to "laugh" and he joined in. Ríos then turned to Bishop Eusebio Ramos, 71, of Caguas, who was present at the talk.
In a joking tone, Bishop Ríos said, "Don't you have one of those capes, Eusebio?" The audience and Bishop Ríos laughed again.
Bishop Ríos continued his spectacle and suggested, "As a gift from the Synod, they should have a cape made for Eusebio, and if it doesn't fit him on the day he dies, we will wrap him in it. I'll give you 20 pesos, Eusebio".

Where do these arrogant men come from? Our Lady of Akita warned bishop would be against bishop.
"He that dwelleth in heaven shall laugh at them: and the Lord shall deride them" (Ps. 2:4)
I will have to re-examine the scriptures for the number of times our Lord castigated one of his disciples or friends for their respective wardrobes. (He did mention the prodigal receiving the best frock from his dad, but I don't think that was dad critiquing the son's wardrobe. And He did tell us about the wedding banquet guest being ejected for not being properly attired, but I think these two examples are in another vein from the sarcasm on display here.) On the other hand, our Lord did have some words for this petty bishop, "Get behind me, Satan."
