Honors Only For Bishops: Pope Francis has decided that honorary titles for priests will be reduced to one, namely to the title “Monsignor” designating the chaplains of his Holiness. There is another fly in the ointment: Priests need to be at least 65 years old in order to receive the title and not 35 as it was until now. All honorary titles for bishops will remain in place as usual.
Atrocities: His autopsy shows that murdered Eureka priest Fr. Eric Freed was beaten to death with a wooden stake and a metal gutter pipe. Freed’s corpse was found by parishioners in his presbytery on the morning of January 1st. The alleged killer, 44-year-old Gary Lee Bullock was charged with murder with a special allegation of torture. He is also charged with burglary, arson and auto theft. The funeral Mass for Fr. Freed was celebrated on Monday by Santa Rosa Bishop Robert F. Vasa.

I've just visited the Mexican/Spanish board on Gloria.tv and made an interesting discovery. Although there are notable exceptions, many of the posters there do not communicate with one another by means of reasoned dialogue using sentences and paragraphs. This can especially be seen on those uploads having the most number of postings. Usually, but not always, the natives will write a …More

I've just visited the Mexican/Spanish board on Gloria.tv and made an interesting discovery. Although there are notable exceptions, many of the posters there do not communicate with one another by means of reasoned dialogue using sentences and paragraphs. This can especially be seen on those uploads having the most number of postings. Usually, but not always, the natives will write a few words and then proceed to post numerous happy little icons (priests giving a thumbs up
papal blessings 
and nuns clapping wildly 
) over and over and over and over again. What a cheerful, albeit simple-mnded, way of communicating. Perhaps this is the way things are done South of the Border?
With this in mind, I too will say only a few words today thanking you for the news presentation, telling you how nice you look and wishing you and yours a healthy, blessed and prosperous New Year.
