One day after the funeral of fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre, the late Grand Master of the Order of Malta, his temporary lieutenant fra’ Ruy Gonçalo do Valle Peixoto de Villas Boas, 80, a widower, wrote a May 6 letter to certain officers of the Order.
It is unlikely that Villas Boas who is still in Portugal, is the author of the text.
As predicted, the letter presents it as a moral duty toward the defunct Grand Master to conclude the “reform” of the Order “within this year.”
However, MarcoTosatti.com (May 13) points out that the Order's professed members haven't even seen the text of the “reform” whose main sponsor is the German Grand Chancellor, Albrecht von Boeselager, 70.
In 2017, Boeselager was involved in a condom scandal. However, Francis supported him and removed instead Grand Master Matthew Festing and Cardinal Patron Raymond Burke. The German were delighted.
With their "reform," the Germans want to change the Order into an NGO.
