I didn't say that "celebration" was said at the Canon. You did. I said it was said at the start of the Mass. Watch your words, friend. Please.
Very true. However, Vatican II unfortunately stresses the meal aspect of the Mass. The word sacrifice is never mentioned, and the altar is now termed a table. Also, the priest is called a presider. So, the Mass can become a circus.
Agree. Very often at the start of some Masses here in Toronto the lector will say "welcome to the celebration of today's Mass". Ugh.
