You're right ... King Juan Carlos of Spain was pressured by that crypto-Communist Zapatero to sign all sorts of laws that are against Catholic teaching [though I am impressed that the King insisted on meeting the Pope at every opportunity in Spain during WYD despite an accident that would have made walking considerably painful] ... but remember the saintly King Baudouin of the Belgians? He abdicated for a day rather than sign an abortion law. OK, the law was still passed ... but at least he stood on Catholic principles ... if only more Catholic leaders and politicians were to do the same!

SboC - Hooray!!! I did see it and am rather pleased indeed! However, I must add that Lietchtenstein is a small Kingdom wherein European politics does not impinge upon their existence too much. Therefore, were it the opposite, would the Prince have said this? The Spanish Crown is NOT this overt in His catholicism because of the politics (poli-tricks) of the EU.... Therefore, even though the Prince said that he would NOT sign it, I still think that if he were so pressured, he would.

Yes, ACL, THAT is a point ... protecting children from having to witness inappropriate sexual display in a PUBLIC space. I think that parents should have the right to remonstrate with overly "passionate" couples [of whatever persuasion] and politely ask them to desist.
Changing the topic just a little, but staying on the theme that "Catholic Orthodoxy is NOT Bigotry", ACL, did you see the wonderful news about tiny Lietchtenstein showing the rest of Europe the way? A referendum to legalise abortion was defeated by the overwhelmingly Catholic, if tiny, electorate. And what about the Prince showing how Catholic leaders should behave when he publicly said BEFORE the referendum that he would NOT sign that proposal into law EVEN if it were passed in the referendum!!! Great!!!

SboC - Indeed. However, if they reject the convertion attempt, what is one to do? I think one ought to just move on, even go to another park. On the other hand, one could object by saying that one ought never to allow devience to chase one from ones own territory (in this case the community park). This raises a point wherein one needs to insist that public displays of affection between gays AND hetros must be forboden. In this way one has full control over what ones children see and experience.

On the other hand, one could say that in this modern world one is to prepare ones children for everything in contemporary society - with the necessary Catholic teachings to underpin them of course! This included exposure to gay couples. However, I think that a parent needs to have the control over what his/her child is exposed to.

In fine, I think it is up to the parent to decide: take walks elsewhere, or tough-it-out in the present overtly gay-arena.

What would Christ do?

He would tell them to "go, and sin no more."

Just try saying that to a militant sodomite or their advocates.

Whatever these degerates want to do in private is their own business.

However, to the vast majority (but obviously not all) it's disgusting behavior and people who are concerned about the care and raising of their kids with Christian values, do not want them to witness disgusting homo perversion in public places.

It's simply common sense and decency which is lacking among the "homo community" and their advocates.

Gosh..... However, to play devil's advocate here: are we to go up to these homosexual chaps and vehemently deride and condemn them in public? I rather think this is what the Muslims would do (nay! they would just shoot them - according to their law!); but we are Christian, therefore, are we to try and use an approach which aims to sow a seed of conversion? I quite think so. Therefore, why should a Christian get so angry as to blogg about the presence of gay couples in her park? What is she doing to convert them? If they ignore her, as the Gospel says, 'shake the dirt from your sandal and move on'.
