The Roman Mass celebrated in the US Capitol on 23 January was "not authorised" by the Archdiocese of Washington, conservative Monsignor Charles Pope told OsvNews.com.
The archdiocese has "procedures in place for such requests" and Monsignor Pope is responsible for them, "I just think it's unusual that any priest would ever agree to say a Mass where he knows there might be some controversy".
In fact, the organisers were discreet. They did not seek permission from the Archdiocese, fearing that the homosexual activist and Cardinal Gregory would call the Speaker's office - which allowed the Mass in the Capitol - and ask him to cancel it.
Faced with this argument, Monsignor Pope confirmed that requests for such Masses would be "respectfully received" and considered on a case-by-case basis.
He used the argument that Christ "was obedient [to God, not the Pharisees] even unto death".

I think that Msgr Pope is probably on “thin ice” with Wilton, who I am sure would love any excuse to shut down all of the public TLMs in the diocese.

One thought I didn't think of before
......Actually, what business is it of the Archdiocese of DC to make any complaint about any traditional Roman Mass that was celebrated in the Capitol building....a totally secular place not under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of DC at all. Homo CArdinal Gregory has/had no business threatening anyone, or having a hissy fit. If traditional CAtholics want …More

If traditional CAtholics want to have a big traditional Roman Rite Mass at the WAshington Monument, at the Pentagon, at MAdison Square GArden or whatever (any secular place), there's not a think Gregory etc. could do to stop it. It's not Church property. Too bad, Gregory!!

A couple of thoughts here:

EXACTLY...THESE GOOD CATHOLIC PEOPLE KNOW THE EVIL THEY ARE UP AGAINST, THOSE WHO WHICH TO DESTROY THE CATHOLIC FAITH AND TRADITION AND IMPOSE THEIR OWN HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA...BE IT POPE FRANCIS, OR THIS CARDINAL GREGORY.
3)"aced with this argument, Monsignor Pope confirmed that requests for such Masses would be "respectfully received" and considered on a case-by-case basis."
ALL GOOD FAITHFUL CATHOLICS WHO ARE NOT BRAINDEAD NAIVE ZOMBIES KNOW THIS IS A FALSE STATEMENT.
4)."He used the argument that Christ "was obedient [to God, not the Pharisees] even unto death"."
THIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST HEINOUS RESPONSE OF THE WHOLE ISSUE, BRING UP THE ISSUE OF OBEDIENCE TO THE AGENDA OF AN APOSTATE POPE AND HOMOSEXUAL ACTIVIST CARDINAL. IT WAS A DISGRACE TO BRING UP THAT ISSUE.

Any priest who has faculties to offer Mass in the diocese can offer the TLM for a group of Catholics. No special or additional permission is needed. No Pope, bishop, Monsignor or any other prelate of the Church can forbid the Mass. The Mass is the most important expression of Christ’s presence on Earth. The faithful have a right to the Mass and the priest has a duty to provide it.

Posers have weaponized the 4th commandment against the 1st, that they may violate the 3rd.
