The College of Cardinals Is as Devalued as The Argentine Peso
Caminante-Wanderer (July 10) discusses the Francis’ Cardinals. Highlights.
• Francis has moulded the College of Cardinals in his image and likeness. This means mediocrity, poorly trained, obscure, and shady characters.
• He did the same with the Argentine and Italian episcopates.
• Francis repels capable people, such as Pell and Ángel Vallejo Balda because they refuse to create the opacities Francis demanded of them.
• Francis prefers mediocrities (Tucho Fernández, Parolin) and easily blackmailable characters (Peña, Zanchetta, Ricca, Pedacchio) because they owe him everything which creates a bond of fidelity that is hard to break.
• Francis’ College of Cardinals is as devalued as the Argentine peso.
